International Balkan University[1] (also known as IBU) is a university founded by Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation. It is located in Skopje, Macedonia. It was created with the financial support of Turkish and Macedonian businessmen and the moral support of Turkish and Macedonian professors. The university commenced in 2006 with only seven students. Now the university educates more than 500 students from different nationalities.

Accreditation

The university has their licenses and accreditation from Macedonian Ministry of Education for five faculties. In year 2008, the representatives of the Turkish High Education (YÖK) made their first visit to IBU, and now it is recognized by YÖK.

International Balkan University has 5 departments and each consists of a faculty.

  1. Faculty of Technical Sciences: Industrial Engineering / Information Technologies Department
  2. Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences: International Economic Relations / Management and Public Administration
  3. Faculty of Communications: Public Relations
  4. Faculty of Languages: English Language and American Studies
  5. Faculty of Fine Arts: Graphic Design
